First, let me clarify that the TV is, in fact, native 1080p. No question about it.

Second, the panel on this TV is made by Samsung, and the quality is excellent.

Third, TCL's website has a find service center location search and it is quite extensive ..

Based on the two year warrantee, what I am seeing with my TV and Amazons excellent delivery, I'm giving this set a Best Buy rating ..

UPDATE 11/16/2010 .. this set is just plain excellent .. and Amazon service is top of the line .. my set developed a thin blue vertical line, I contacted Amazon, they picked up the set the next day and delivered a new set at the same time .. hard to beat that ..

Update 11/17/2010 .. it's a bit tiresome getting messages from folks who 1) don't have the TV and want to slam it in a public review 2)Know little to nothing about TV's .. I had an electronic repair business for 10 years and I've worked on a lot of TV's .. so I know what I'm... Read more

3.0 out of 5 stars TCL Television Warranty -Service Locations, November 19, 2010
Amazon Verified Purchase( What's this?)
This review is from: TCL L32HDF11TA 32-Inch 720p 60 Hz LCD HDTV with 2-Year Warranty, Black (Electronics)
I purchased this TV based on fairly good reviews, good price and two year warranty. On TCL/USA website they list two warranty service companies in my area of Overland Park,Kansas. I contacted both of these companies and they do not service TCL televisions. I contacted TCL customer Support at 1-877-300-8837 and they would not tell me where I could get warranty service other than to look at their website. So what good is a warranty if you cannot get any service? I hope someone with TCL sees this post and responds. I also think Amazon.com should look into this problem since they make a big deal about the two year warranty. Let the buyer beware.

Had to write a review for others like me who hadn't heard of the brand and were skeptical. This TV rocks ! It has a 2 yr warranty and a beautiful picture. I bought one for my mom , because her old HDTV broke. I spent over $800 on a Samsung 32 inch about 2 years ago (bought through Amazon) , and man do I regret that because the price on TV's dropped like crazy right after. This TV is just as good WITH MORE FEATURES than my Samsung. for the price you can't beat it , I got it for $320 !

5.0 out of 5 stars Let me clear up some misconceptions..., May 5, 2009
This review is from: Sony BRAVIA XBR KDL-32XBR9 32-Inch 1080p 120Hz LCD HDTV (Electronics)
This is a great HDTV. Hands down is one of the most beautiful displays in this size. You can buy a fancier ultra-thin 32" TV from Samsung right now but it's almost twice the price!

Pros: The blacks are black! When you start it up, the Bravia logo appears on a black background and it's as black as when the TV is off! People say that edge LED lighting will make the blacks truer with less backlight bleeding but this TV is already great in this aspect. The colors and settings are very good out of the box for a few of the styles but need adjustment like any TV. The nice thing is that when you change your input, the TV remembers all the settings for that input! So it's like you never have to re-adjust your settings unless you plug your stuff in differently.

The motionflow frame interpolation technology is astounding! 120HZ with the motionflow is worth every penny for bluray and other high-def sources. That's why I waited for this over the XBR6. I however prefer... Read more

4.0 out of 5 stars Great TV, but a Few Issues, April 4, 2009
This review is from: Sony BRAVIA XBR KDL-32XBR9 32-Inch 1080p 120Hz LCD HDTV (Electronics)
First, let me say this TV excels on many levels. Picture quality is great, pre-set picture settings are almost spot on, but plenty of flexibility to adjust, decent off-angel viewing, matte screen deals well w/ bright lighting (we have a lamp directly across from the TV and only notice a reflection in truly dark scenes), and of course the long history of Sony quality standing behind it. However, unless the 120hz is a must for you, see if you can get your hands on a XBR6 on clearance. The XBR9 doesn't add much more, and you do lose some features, like the on-screen tv guide, PAP/PIP, and the proprietary input for things like the ipod dock, etc.
Minor Issues: Sound quality is decent for a TV of this size, but audiophiles will want to add an external speaker system. The bezel is highly reflective, which can be distracting depending on the lighting in the room. Another thing to note is that the input menu has to be navigated with the arrow keys on the remote - can't just keep... Read more

5.0 out of 5 stars Sony has fix for backlighting problem in the advanced contrast section., May 27, 2009
By
This review is from: Sony BRAVIA XBR KDL-32XBR9 32-Inch 1080p 120Hz LCD HDTV (Electronics)
We were unhappy with this TV and then found that Sony has fixed the back light issue so you can adjust it or turn it off and this has fixed the screen changing from dark to light with different scenes. It was easy to down load this onto a usb memory stick and the TV automatically did the update. The channels seem to change faster also. Here is the web site for downloading it from Sony - just make sure you follow all of the steps and read the info first. They will mail you the update on stick also.

Rating: 4.1

List Price : $399.95 Price : Too low to display
Panasonic TY-EW3D2MMK2 Ultimate 3D Starter Kit (Avatar 3D + 2 Rechargeable Glasses)

Product Description

Includes 2 pair of rechargeable 3D glasses and 1 Blu-ray 3D movie: Avatar 3D

Amazon.com Product Description

3D Technology Checklist

This product is 3D-related. To help you get a great 3D experience, use the checklist below to ensure you have everything you need. 3D viewing requires:

A Display
First, you'll need a 3D-ready display--whether it's a 3D HDTV, 3D projector, or 3D computer monitor. These displays have more processing power than standard 2D models for displaying 3D images in rapid succession.
A Source
Your display may be ready for 3D playback, but you'll still need a device to read 3D content. This can be a cable box with a subscription to a 3D channel, a 3D Blu-ray Disc player, or a PlayStation 3 system.
3D Content
3D content--the actual entertainment, in other words--will be played back using the source mentioned above, whether it's a 3D broadcast from your cable provider, a 3D Blu-ray Disc, or a 3D video game.
3D Glasses
For now, the vast majority of 3D HDTVs require glasses for 3D viewing. Many use powered "active shutter" glasses, others polarized "passive" glasses. You'll need one pair per viewer, and they'll have to be compatible with your display, whether they're the same brand, or a pair of "universal" glasses designed to work across brands.
HDMI Cable
To connect your source (such as a 3D Blu-ray Disc player) to your display, you'll need a high-speed HDMI cable. Cables with this designation feature bandwidth speeds up to 10.2 Gbps (gigabits per second), for carrying the 3D signal without any loss of quality.

If you want to get more information about 3D, shop our 3D products, watch videos, or interact with other customers, we invite you to visit 3D 101, our customer center about everything 3D.

Relive the cinematic 3D experience of Avatar at home with this Panasonic Ultimate 3D Pack and a compatible Panasonic VIERA 3D HDTV. This special package includes the Avatar Blu-Ray 3D Disc, two rechargeable 3D active shutter glasses, two eyewear cases, and a USB charger and rechargeable battery.

Panasonic Ultimate 3D Pack with Avatar

Panasonic's 3D technology creates separate images for the left and right eyes that are recorded with 1920 x 1080 full-HD quality and alternately played at high speed. The active shutter rechargeable glasses feature highly precise control completely that closes the shutters for both eyes at the instant that the images change for the left and right eyes. This brings cinema-level images right into the living room, without the problems of image deterioration and blurring that were common to conventional 3D systems.

The glasses also feature a durable, adjustable resin frame, a slide switch to turn power on and off, and easy recharging via USB. Sized for adults, they are designed for use while wearing ordinary prescription glasses.

4.0 out of 5 stars 2nd generation 3d glasses work well, February 10, 2011
This review is from: Panasonic TY-EW3D2MMK2 Ultimate 3D Starter Kit (Avatar 3D + 2 Rechargeable Glasses) (Electronics)
If you bought a Panasonic 3d TV, then you are going to have to invest in a pair of their glasses (1st or 2nd generation, these are 2nd) to view 3d material. The glasses themselves are not that bad. I wouldn't be wearing them for longer than a standard movie viewing, only because I personally feel that I don't want to stress my eyes any longer than that. The 3d effect was great, I had a bit of flickering in the glasses because I had a florescent light on during the evening, but it went away when I turned the light off. Price is too expensive for what you get, however, and it really should be packaged into the TV.

I wear prescription glasses, and they fit over my glasses comfortably (this kit comes with medium size glasses). My prescription glasses are narrow, but I had plenty of room, so I would think that even if you had larger frames that they should fit. The main concern I would think would be your head size in deciding to go with small, medium, or large. I would... Read more

5.0 out of 5 stars WORTH EVERY PENNY (make sure dealer checks for 3D disc), March 3, 2011
Amazon Verified Purchase( What's this?)
This review is from: Panasonic TY-EW3D2MMK2 Ultimate 3D Starter Kit (Avatar 3D + 2 Rechargeable Glasses) (Electronics)
This is a great 3D movie, and a must have as some of the other folks have said. This is by far the best 3D movie I have in my collection. If you are reading this review, then you are probably considering buying the 3D version. This is only my opinion, but if you are like myself and as you were sitting in the theater watching this and you thought to yourself "I would love to watch this in 3D at home!" then this is worth every bit of $200 and up. You won't regret it, but you have to be careful when choosing the dealer.
Everything was fine, I ordered it, it took 2-3 days to get to my house. No problems.....until I received it in the mail. I put it in the PS3 and it wasn't 3D!!!!!It was the Blu-Ray that had been put in an Avatar 3D box and then put back into the plastic sleeve. I had just spent about $230.00 all together on this and felt like passing out. I try really hard not to make stupid decisions, but this one wasn't looking very good. I wrote the dealer and explained what had... Read more

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Glasses after lots of research, March 9, 2011
Amazon Verified Purchase( What's this?)
This review is from: Panasonic TY-EW3D2MMK2 Ultimate 3D Starter Kit (Avatar 3D + 2 Rechargeable Glasses) (Electronics)
I've been researching 3D TV and glasses for about 2 months. I finally decided on these along with a Panasonic 50" 3D TV. I read reviews about glasses being uncomfortable, people say light gets in some, other complain about dead spots, ect ect. It seems there's a complaint with almost any glasses. Some more then others. These seemed to have the best reviews and not many complaints. So I went with them.

I have zero complaints. They are comfortable and don't bother me even after 4 hours of wearing them gaming or watching movies. I don't really get some of the complaints to be honest. I guess there's always "that guy" out there who will complain about anything. These glasses are good quality, work well, and are comfortable for me (male, medium build, my wife is small and she has no complaints either).

I really like to on/off switch and the red LED light to indicate when they are charging. All-in-all these are worth the price.
